I am the Tom Buell BC Salmon Conservation Postdoctoral Fellow in the Terrestrial and Aquatic Conservation lab at Simon Fraser University with Dr. John Reynolds, and I am currently also working as a part-time postdoctoral researcher in the Earth Systems Science lab at the University of Zurich with Prof. Dr. Gabriela Schaepman-Strub.
Broadly, I am interested in how nutrient dynamics both between and within ecosystems shape the communities of organisms that live there. My PhD work focused on how subsidies from the ocean in the forms of beach-cast seaweeds, river otter feces and food scraps, and sea spray, can affect plants, bugs, and birds on 100 small islands on the central coast of British Columbia, Canada. |
